Feel first
Texture against skin matters more than how lace photographs. We begin every discovery with the hand—not the lens.
Lace philosophy
We do not make lace. We discover it—then publish how we decide what earns a place on this platform. This is our standard, open to you.
How we read lace
Texture against skin matters more than how lace photographs. We begin every discovery with the hand—not the lens.
Openwork is not simply "showing." It is deliberate pattern: which skin meets air, which lines support the body.
Sheer with structure, never spectacle. Sensory awareness—not sexual display. You decide how much to reveal.
The openwork is not “showing”—it is woven choice.
How we discover
Every piece considered for The Lace Pact moves through the same process—whether it becomes a Signature shade or a Journal review that never reaches the shop.
We look across ateliers, suppliers, and workshops—French Leavers lace, Italian elastic lace, and skilled makers who understand intimates.
Yarn density, edge finish, breathability. Lace that scratches or pulls is refused before it reaches a fitting.
UK sizing on real bodies. Fifteen minutes of wear. One wash. Transparency in natural light. The Pact Sheet, every time.
Worthy of the Pact, beautiful but not ours, or pass. We say no more often than yes—and we publish why when it helps you choose.
The Lace Covenant Filter
A public checklist. If a piece cannot pass this filter, it does not belong on The Lace Pact—no matter how photogenic the lace appears online.

AccessibilityPact verdict
Passes every dimension. A piece we are proud to discover, review, and eventually offer through the platform.
Genuinely lovely lace that fails one covenant—too sheer, wrong story, wrong respect. We may write about it; we will not sell it.
Does not meet our minimum. Often never named publicly—we simply move on and keep searching.
Lace we look for
We are not a mill—but we speak lace fluently. These are the families we encounter most often when discovering pieces worthy of a pact.
Calais & Caudry, France
Woven on heritage looms. Structured openwork, couture heritage, crisp floral pattern.
Various
Stitched onto a ground. Versatile for panels and appliqué; quality varies by base fabric.
Italy & beyond
Elastic fibres for fit and movement. Essential for bras and briefs that must move with the body.
Various
Heavier, motif-led lace with raised texture. Dramatic—but must still feel kind at the edges.
The story test
Before any verdict, we ask one question: can we name the morning, room, or mood this lace belongs to? Ivory at getting-ready. Noir in quiet evening. Blush on a Tuesday that needs no excuse.
Lace without a wear story is decoration. Lace with one becomes a promise you can keep to yourself.
